Aluminum Oxide (AO)

 

Processed to produce a strong, stout abrasive, aluminum oxide provides several grades and grits making this a versatile and well-rounded organic material for all shops and service departments. AO performs very well in the finishing stages of metal working and is the most affordable.

Zirconia (Z)

 

Excellent for machining under intense pressure and able to withstand high heat generated by most grinding applications, Zirconia's specialty is stock removal of steel on tools such as mower blades. The 50-100 grit range cuts superbly, remains moderately priced and provides more wear resistance than Aluminum Oxide.

Ceramic (C)

 

Ceramic grain provides a continuous sharp cut for blade sharpening and general metalworking. is The longest lasting industrial abrasive, ceramic's structure wears more consistently than other abrasives extending it's life and ability to tackle many different applications.

Silicon Carbide (SC)

 

The choice abrasive for polishing out scratches in a blade edge without pressure, silicon carbide's  fine mini-edge wears down quicker than others yet creates a mirror finish. A 5000 girt SC belt adds an impressive Wow factor to any edge.

Trizact (T)

Designed by 3M, trizact belts are the gold standard for uniform wear. Trizact's multiple layers stacked onto each other create an evenness of grit removal that is second to none. They outlast aluminum oxide belts by 3x.  Individual grooves help to trap and throw heat, keeping the belt as cool as possible.

 Available in 320, 600, 1000,  grit in 2" x 50" or 2" x 35"

Scotch Brite (SB)

Conditioning belts made from scotch brite are ideal for finishing knives and blades requiring a micro-serrated toothy edge. A 150 or 220 grit belt may leave a nasty burr, but these 600 grit gray conditioning belts remove the burr without polishing the actual edge and leaves microscopic teeth giving the blade an aggressive bevel.

  • Recommended for: de-burring and surface prep, stock removal and leveling, blending and finishing, weld splatter removal, scale removal and rust removal

  • Premium Non-woven with embedded Aluminum Oxide Grain

Leather Stropping (LS)

Complete a final polish with fine compound (green) and a good, old-fashioned leather belt which removes any remaining scratches and imperfections leaving a mirror finish. The actual edge will have a glass-like smoothness; recommended for finer specialty knives that can show off their culinary skills like no other.
